the quirky bride #24

Emily and Chris’s wedding was a quirky, intimate wedding – one which in which every detail of the day reflected something about the couple themselves. As you can see above with the lovely shoes – such a gorgeous photo to start the post with!

This beautiful couple originally met on Myspace. They were friends for a year or so, but even though their friendship grew quickly, the romance grew a bit slower. Four years later, they got engaged and began planning a wedding they knew would be beautiful, simple, and a blast! They held the wedding at Hartman’s Herb Farm, in Barre, Massachusetts and it was the perfect setting for their day – the big red barn, the garden ceremony, the beam reception hall – it all fitted in perfectly with the couple’s style.

The forecast called for rain on the day, but the sun started shining just before their ceremony and held up until everyone was safely inside dancing the night away. They were lucky to hire their favorite local band, Darlingside, who kept everyone on their feet all night. Hiring a band instead of a DJ is a great way to add something extra special to your wedding day. You could get whichever kind of band matches you and your partners personality, whether it be a cheesy tribute band, a big brass band, a rock band or a piano and a solo singer. Having someone singing live is a quick way to inject a bit of magic into the night – even better if they take requests!

These lovely photographs were taken by Jessica Hughes. You can also find her facebook page here. They capture the rustic setting, the old-fashioned feel of the day, as well as the fun and love felt by all just wonderfully.
