Gorgeous Wedding Gifts for Gorgeous Couples

Knowing what to buy a couple for their wedding day can be tricky – I mean, if they don’t provide you with a gift-list then you’re left a little in the lurch. You don’t want to buy something completely generic or too ‘high-street’ because the chances are (if you decide to) that at least one other guest will have bought them the exact same thing. The trick is to go with something a little different, a little inventive and a little imaginative.

I always found with wedding gifts that there are two or three types of gifts that work the best. These tend to be: Cute His and Hers type gifts, personal gifts tailored to the couple, or home-decor for their newly-wed home. Why do these kinds of gifts work the best? Because it’s exactly what the couple are after at that time in their lives and exactly the kind of thing they’ll love showing off!

We put together some ideas – perfect for anyone struggling with the whole ‘wedding gift buying’ thing. After this blog post – you won’t ever struggle again… No matter how many weddings you get invited to this year (or next)!

Personalised Canvas Print

I love this one, because it combines two of the different types I mentioned above. Not only is it personalised to the couple, but it’s also something they can hang in their home too after the wedding. For big-style romance go for a picture you took during the wedding (this is especially nice if you’re a good photographer) but if you’re not keen on that idea then just choose a nice photo of them that’s on their facebook page. Simple as that! You can print canvases easily and quickly with companies such as Printer Pix who offer really good prices too – so this gift doesn’t even need to blow your budget!

Honeymoon Meal

If you know the hotel name where the couple plan on honeymooning – then you could offer to pay for a meal or night-out for them once they arrive. With most 4* or 5* hotels you could even organise this directly with the hotel so it’s a surprise for them upon arrival. Or – If you’re after a cheaper option similar to this – why not purchase a bottle of champagne and strawberries and have it waiting for them in their honeymoon suite when they arrive at the hotel? Cute, simple and will definitely brighten their day.

Offer to fork the bill

If you’re a close family member (we’re talking Mum’s, Dad’s, Sister’s, Brother’s here) then offering to pay for part of the day is a pretty easy option when it comes to wedding gifts. Offer to pay for the wedding dress, or the flowers, or the cake… something along those lines. It’s a big gesture and shows a lot of love – but it’s minimal effort from you.

Quirky Kitchen Stuff

I love kitsch, quirky kitchen stuff – especially because, it’s not the kind of thing that you’d usually spend lots of money on yourself. Go for cute vintage-style gadgets, or fancy wine holders, or a set of coasters… Just choose something you know the couple would love and that sticks to their couple-style.
